What is this? This is a Creative Writing Forum. We are thinking about expanding it towards all things creative like music, theatre and art.
Okay, so what do you do on a Creative Writing Forum? Well, you can discuss writing, bounce story ideas off other people, look for inspiration, post stories to get feedback on them, tell others what you think of their stories (politely, of course), play writing/story related games or in the General Board talk about anything.
Do you have any rules here? Yes, but they all pretty much boil down to the same thing: Respect other people and this site.
We want everyone to feel welcome here. If you want the specifics to the guidelines click here or if you're in a silly mood the Pirate Version.
What are "skins"? You know how ipods can have different covers right? Well, forum skins are like that. They just make the forum look different. We have a few different skins so if you don't like this one you can change it.
Okay, how do I do THAT? First, you have to be a member. Click on >profile>modify profile Scroll down to Account Preferences, then pick one of the drop down menu choices next to Select Skin and there you go!
How do I create a topic or reply to a post? Topic: Go to the board you want to post in (ex: Share Your Writing) Click on New Thread Type in the Subject line and message Click Post Message
Post a Reply Go to the board you want to post in Now you have two options: A)If you want to have effects like different colored words or links click Reply, type your message and click Post Message. B) If you just want to write something go to the bottom of the page to Quick Reply, under where it says Message type your message, and when you're done click Post Reply.
Meowbooks, why do you like Pirates of the Caribbean? If I told you all the reasons I'd go on for hours. The short answer is it's fun, I love the complex storylines, the characters and the movies.

How do I change my skin? -Go to Profile, and click the link to "modify profile" -Scroll down a ways, and you'll come across a... thingy... and it asks what skin you want! -Select the skin you want! OR try out a few of the others, to see if you favor others. -Click on "save changes" or... some sort of button like that.
How do I get Karma? Magic. I'll give you a hint. You must be worthy. If you aren't ye won't have it or you'll lose it faster than ye can say "Oh my giddy Aunt..." What's Magic? Easier than juxtaposition, but not as worth the effort. Phenomena that has yet to be explained by science that manifests itself in strange and unusual ways

How do I become a Moderator? Step 1: Get to know your Administrator. If you can do that, and know her well, and get on her good side, she may be more willing to make you one. Step 2: Show interest in the Creative Writing Site. This is most easily accomplished by posting EVERYWHERE, as OFTEN as it is convenient to you! Step 3: Very nice, and politely ask your Administrator to be made a Moderator, and specify which board(s) you wish to be moderator of. Step 4: Hope and pray. And yes, if you become a moderator you actually get nifty powers and access to the Secret Room...Muhahaha!
I keep coming to the site, but I never post. What shou-? POST!!! POST LIKE THE BEWILKERS! You'll NEVER get a Bupple Jar if you sit around expecting the best! POST POST and post some more. But make sure your posts don't consist of less than 15 characters, or a smile... or... especially not "lol" because I'll smite you if you even MENTION IT'S EXISTENCE! ~this is not a threat... it's a fact. I mean NO! Don't take it that way... I'm only kidding... ...hmm... my post is kinda long. I'll leave it to someone else to ask more questions.
Wait, did someone mention a secret room? Yes. It's actually a forum where only staff can post. It's original intention was for moderators to acquaint themselves with their new powers.
Okay, what's this moderating deal? Moderators help keep the forum running smoothly by moving threads to the right place, keeping the peace, making sure the rules are followed and basically making this a place someone will want to post on. For more info on the different moderators go here.
What about the powers? Things like being able to create skins and edit other posts. And other things that if you become a moderator you will discover.
How do I make word links? Type the word. Highlight it. Press the globe/page button. After "url" and within the brackets type =URL It should look like this:
What does exalt or smite under a person's username mean? If you exalt a person their karma count goes up, if you smite their karma goes down.
You can exalt or smite one person everyday.
We're not sure not sure if we should keep that and do something with it like say after certain period of time the one with the most points gets a prize or do away with it.

OH, that's right. We're supposed to ask a question for posting on THIS thread. Let's see... hmm... OH! I know! How do you become a Moderator? Well, you could consult this to your Administrator, and I'm sure she'll tell you exactly. It's not easy. First off, we need more members to balance out the amount of Mods to Members. Second off, you need to prove that you're a true Mod by either showing your devotion early in the life of our site's history (Horus started us off at Faultline), or continuously work on the site, posting here, there, and all around the square. If you have enough posts, you're more likely to succeed. NOW I'm gonna go Smite Eagle! AHAHA! Not gonna post, eh? We'll Fix THAT! (No hard feelings, n'est-ce pas?)
-Update, one quick trip to the Members list later: Wait a minute! We've got TWO Slackers! But one of them's already GOT Karma, from doing absolutely Nothing! And it sure isn't Eagle... no... he's at a position that fits his work ethic. Who's this Channel guy? And... why has he refused to post? Anyway, he's gotta post Sometime, and in the meantime... heheheh... Okay, so TODAY, I'll smite Channel. Tomorrow, I'll Exhault... someone... I'll spin the wheel. Then the Next day, I'll SMITE AGAIN! This'll be fun!

I know! Yell at Meowbooks! She'll think of something! Like, maybe a minor position in power of some sort... ...Artistic designer, or... something. Better yet, just a regular old Moderator in charge of A board, and making skins! How's that sound? Oh, and another thing... while you're asking for power (to any degree) be sure to try for the ability to change posts... it's FUN.
